Hetrypa Breath

Breathing is an essential daily function, and just like you may choose to eat healthily or exercise to keep your muscles strong, you should also do daily breathing exercises to ensure optimal breathing.

We breathe to get air into our lungs and ensure we have the right balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide available to our body, depending on the demands we place upon it.

Many factors can affect the way we breathe, including exercise, stress, emotions and health problems. These are often referred to as Breathing Pattern Disorders (BPD).

Being aware of our breath and having good Functional Breathing can therefore help influence how we perform, recover and feel mentally and physically. It can even help manage some health conditions, including Asthma, Women’s Health, Sleep Disorders, Anxiety and Depression.

Hetrypa Breath can assess and treat Breathing Pattern Disorders and teach you functional breathing to help optimise your health and wellbeing.

Optimise your health and wellbeing by booking an assessment today and seeing one of our healthcare breathwork specialists.

How Do I Know If I Breathe Functionally or Have A Breathing Pattern Disorder?

You may already have a diagnosis of a Breathing Pattern Disorder, such as Asthma. However, not everyone knows if they breathe functionally or not, and if you suffer any of these symptoms, you may not have an optimal breathing pattern:

Feeling short of breath at rest or not able to get enough air in.
Fast or deep breathing.
Chest Wall Pain
Feeling Foggy, lightheaded or dizzy
Confusion, inability to focus, or difficulty concentrating.
Tingling in your fingers, toes or tip of your nose.
Unable to take a deep breath.
Frequent yawning or sighing
Bloating feeling in the stomach
General fatigue
Feeling tense or Anxious

What Can I Do?

It is essential to consult a medical professional to rule out any underlying issues that may be causing these sensations. If not, consulting an appropriately qualified Breathwork Professional or Respiratory Physiotherapist may be beneficial.

A Breathwork professional will be able to assess your breathing and help you understand why and what is causing your breathing pattern disorder.

They will then be able to provide you with simple yet effective Functional Breathing exercises to help you breathe more functionally, which, with practice and time, can help control, reduce, or resolve your symptoms.
